Dance

State of Emergency is a well known brand in UK Dance. We produce high quality innovative dance theatre and lead the field in supporting new choreography and performance, alongside a range of activities including showcases, tours, festivals, conferences, training and professional development. We maintain a strong network of artists, partners & organisations and form key creative alliances that support engagement in and appreciation of the arts by a broad cross section of society.

As a producer of more than thirty years standing, we have built a reputation for presenting authentic dance theatre, with a special focus on social issues, for example: Mission Possible 2009 (male role models); Desert Crossings 2011-12 (extinction and the environment); Love&Sex 2013 (sexual health and consent); Co-Mission: Choices & Consequences 2015 (inclusivity); Where is Home? 2016-17 (identity and migration).

Our productions remain an important platform for established & emerging artists. Alongside our productions, we offer education and outreach work, which provide vital opportunities for choreographers and dance artists to contribute to participation and talent development.
